April is now a Professor of Theater & Performance Studies at Georgetown University.
​
Prior to this, April spent five years as a Professor in the School of Theater at the College of Visual and Performing Arts at GMU, where she taught Audition Techniques (THR 423), Contemporary Women Playwrights (THR 424), Acting for the Camera (THR 410), Senior Capstone Independent Studies (THR 496), Playwriting I (THR 380), and spent four years as the Director of the festival of new student works, The Originals!
April​ was the recipient of the 2023 Robert K. Purks Faculty Enrichment Grant from the CVPA at George Mason University, and served as a judge on the Faculty Grant Committee.
